The Notebook

My favourite film is The Notebook. The director is Nick Cassavetes. The main characters are played by Ryan Gosling (Noah) and Rachel McAdams (Allie). It is a love story set in the 1940s. It tells the story of a poor, but passionate, young man and a rich young woman. They are separated by their social differences. You also see an older man telling this story to a sick old woman. While you are watching the film you realise that the young couple are the same people as the older couple.

The most romantic thing I have ever done was a surprise treasure hunt which I made for my girlfriend on our first anniversary. I made a treasure hunt. She had to follow a map which led her to my house. A trail of sweets took her to my bedroom door. Attached to the door there was a letter which I had written. On the bed, I had arranged sweets into the shape of a heart. On the back of the heart there was a poster which I had made. In the middle of the heart there was a very beautiful necklace.

I think that romantic things are things that come from the heart. Not just an object or a flower, but doing something special for your partner. If you want to be romantic, the only advice I can give to anyone is just to be yourself.
