Notting Hill
Notting Hill is a romantic comedy about an ordinary man who falls in love with a famous Hollywood actress. William Thacker, played by Hugh Grant, owns a travel bookshop in London’s fashionable Notting Hill area. One day famous film star Anna Scott, played by Julia Roberts, walks into his shop. They start a relationship. William Thacker finds that dating a superstar is difficult. Notting Hill was written by Richard Curtis, who also wrote the romantic-comedies Love Actually and Four Weddings and a Funeral. It was directed by Roger Michell. Rhys Ifans is funny as the character William’s flatmate.
